2021 Pinot Meunier | Sonoma County

This varietal is usually used as a blending grape, especially in the production of champagne, and is rarely vinted as a still wine. This particular example pours burgundy red, and greets the nose with aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, blackberry and a hint of black pepper. On the tongue, a moderate rounded acidity with raspberry and tart strawberry flavors balanced by moderate tannins. Finishes with lingering berry notes, mild pepper and hint of green stems.

Good with nuts and cheeses, particularly goat. Also good with pasta, whether in a meaty bolognese or a cheesy carbonara. Goes well with roast chicken, duck or pork.
